The year is 2015 in Tachikawa, a large city in western Tokyo. A big MESS is brewing and only the GATCHAMAN CREW (G-CREW), composed of talented humans and aliens who are selected by the CHAMBER, can protect the Earth and its inhabitants with their hidden special powers.
<GATCHAMAN CREW>
Hajime Ichinose G-101
Bubbly and bursting with energy, this 16-year old main character is an artsy high school girl who is into all things pretty and cute. Just when Hajime was starting to crave more excitement in life, she gets recruited by J.J. Robinson to become part of the G-CREW. True to her style, Hajime’s weapons are made of pastel-colored bullets and scissors.
Sugane Tachibana G-96
At 19, Sugane is a high school senior who is wise beyond his years. A champion of justice, he has been part of the G-CREW for 5 years and possesses the power to break the boundaries of time and space.
Joe Hibiki G-89
Serious government employee by day and dart aficionado by night, this 10-year veteran has the power to control flames and is the only GATCHAMAN who can fly. A dark yet passionate character, he develops a strange fascination for cheerful Hajime.
O.D G-12
At 1.9 meters tall, this stunning cross-dresser is a mood maker and happens to be the first G-CREW member at Tachikawa “CAGE”. O.D, which stands for over doing, is half human half alien.
Utsu-tsu G-99
This 15-year old is a year behind Hajime in the same high school, but has a completely opposite personality. Shy and with very low self-esteem, Utsu-tsu barely speaks to her fellow G-CREW and prefers to tend to the flowers over at the park where she volunteers.
PAI-MAN G-3
This tiny alien creature measures only 33 cm in height but is actually the oldest GATCHAMAN. What’s more, he is the leader of GATCHAMAN at Tachikawa “CAGE”, having obtained J.J. Robinson’s full faith and trust. Unfortunately, he is seen merely as an indecisive puppet leader.

J.J. (J.J. Robinson)
J.J. Robinson is a space alien and a member of the CHAMBER, an organization that communicates with different intelligent lives within the galaxy. As guardian of the Earth, he recruits talented people to become part of the G-CREW and guides them in the fight against special dimension people by giving them NOTE powers.
<SPECIAL DIMENSION PEOPLE>
Rui Ninomiya
Rui is a self-taught genius who can speak Japanese, Chinese, and English. Frustrated that the world is too slow, Rui sets out to speed up the passage of time and “update” people by using his ability to hack and write code.
Berg-Katze
This 2.15 meter tall creature is actually an alien who gathers and replicates data to create fakes. Mentally disturbed, he enjoys seeing people suffer and approaches Rui to get close to President X.
President X
President X gathers the most useful information available and finds the best solutions to all the problems in the world. Rui sees President X as his only true friend. They have worked together since Rui was 12 and their mission is to re-program people’s minds.

11月24日生まれ ？型 16歳 身長155cm 立川市内の高校に通う２年生。アーティスト気質で、元気で明るく、パワフルでエネルギッシュ。マイワールド全開でつっ走って行ってしまう、良い意味でちょっと変わった子。特に文具が好きで、はさみやペンのフォルムに超萌える。清音が教育を任されるが、手にはまったく負えず、勝手に行動する。しかし『従来のガッチャマン達の活動では有り得なかった結果』を起こし、メンバーや世界に大きな影響をあたえていく。彼女にとってガッチャマンの活動は、異国の地への「旅」のようなもの。そこで得た刺激は、彼女には小さすぎた「現在の世界」拡張するものだった。
橘 清音 （たちばな すがね） SUGANE TACHIBANA
8月2日生まれ Ｏ型 身長175cm Gチーム暦5年 はじめの影響を受け、今まで考えが及ばなかった事も少し想像できるようになる。居合い抜きを使う、侍ボーイ。古風な性格で正義や常識、使命や選ばれた人間の責任を強く感じて生きている。はじめに対しては、女性に対する免疫が無くただでさえやりにくい相手なのに、様々なルールを気にしない奔放さと理解不能の価値観に翻弄される。はじめと行動を共にするうちに、徐々に彼女を理解し、共感が信頼、さらには恋心や憧れを抱き始める。
枇々木 丈 （ひびき じょう） JOE HIBIKI
3月29日生まれ Ｂ型 29歳 身長187cm Gチーム歴10年 虚無感と絶望感を抱えており、人類に限界を感じている。はじめの影響を受け、生来の熱さを取り戻し本気になる。普段は市役所の「生活安全課」に勤めている。東京大学出身。公務員時はパリッとしたスーツと髪型、眼鏡のハンサム真面目男子で言葉遣いも丁寧。仕事をこなすのが早過ぎる為、午前中にすべての仕事を終え、午後はタバコをふかしていたりする。定時を越えて働かない記録を更新中。帰りながら、髪型をぐしゃっと戻し、眼鏡をしまい服も着替え、完全に雰囲気を変えてなじみのBARに足を運ぶ。はじめには少し距離を取りつつも「興味深いお嬢ちゃんだな～」と気に入っている。後に、はじめの突飛な思いつき等から、合理性や優れた所を感じ取るようになる。はじめを「お嬢ちゃん」と呼び、自分を「おじさん」と呼ぶ。冷めているが、本当は熱くなりたい男。 |
