All right, I\'m going to try to condense the details about the trilogy business plan.
First, a few initial details:
The campaigns, not the factions, are being divided up into the 3 separate game packages. The first package will consist of the Terran Campaign as well as multiplayer support over Battle.net 2.0. The second package will consist of the Zerg Campaign. The third and last package is the big encore, the Protoss Campaign.
Each campaign will include around or at least 30 missions.
Each additional installment will most likely cost about the same as the first, since they are all full-featured.
Each package comes with the same edition of multiplayer, so there is no splitting of the community.
Now, I will take questions and attempt to answer them to the best of my knowledge. Any of you are welcome to offer answers as well. I will post your questions and answers on this first post to make it easier for everybody to keep track of. Let\'s keep it in here, and please...
KEEP IT CLEAN!
Q&A
1. If the games change each time, does this mean people will have to have the same copy to play against each other?
All packages come with the same multiplayer system, so no, you can have any one of the three copies and still be able to play online with people using other packages.
2. What impact will each subsequent sequel have on the balance of the game? Will it require changes to the units we\'ve gotten used to in between the transition time?
There should be no impact at all.
3. Will the expansions have any implications on replay functionality? Will replays carry throughout each expansion?
Assuming these packages do not change multiplayer, you will only have to worry about patches rendering some replays obsolete as is the nature of Blizzard games. |
