The Nintendo DS game \"Elite Beat Agents\" has been one of the holiday season\'s critical favorites, but it was never going to be a sure-seller. While other DS games this season have sported Pokémon characters, Nintendogs and baby versions of Mario and Princess Peach, \"EBA\" has three secret agents dancing to pop songs in order to improve people\'s lives. Fils-Aime acknowledged that bringing the game to America was a risk. \"I have to say I\'m a little personally disappointed,\" he said. \"The sales are strong and good. I personally thought it was going to be explosive. The consumers I\'ve talked to who have it love it. But it\'s really [about] exposing it to consumers and letting them see how addictive this game is.\" He said he hoped for 300,000 copies sold, but as of last week, the game had sold closer to 120,000. Still, he wouldn\'t rule out a sequel. \"The developer has been fantastic to work with and our hope is maybe this could become a new franchise.\" The game does conclude with the words \"to be continued.\" .. |
