一年前在reddit上就有人发现,游科已经能注册了黑神话·姜子牙、钟馗、小倩、大荒、山海、搜神等等一系列商标。
A list of Black Myth related trademarks registered by Game Science so far
So I went on to a Chinese website where you can search for trademarks registered by companies, and found a list of potential future titles registered by Game Sciences so far. Bear in mind a registered trademark however, is not a guarantee that it will become a game in the future.
Black Myth Wukong: registered in 2020
Black Myth Jiang Ziya (姜子牙): reg'd in 2020, Jiang Ziya is a strategist who helped the Zhou Dynasty to defeat the Shang Dynasty in around 1000 BC. He appears in the late 16th century novel "Investitures of Gods" (封神演义) where Nezha and Erlang also appears in. The novel includes a large amount of characters that are now revered as "gods".
Black Myth Zhong Kui (钟馗): reg'd in 2020, Zhong Kui is essentially a ghost buster character that is revered in folklore to be the bane of all ghosts and evil spirits, there are a few literary work written about him, but not as prominent as the rest of these.
Black Myth Xiao Qian (小倩): reg'd in 2020, Xiao Qian probably refers to Nie Xiaoqian (聂小倩) from the 1766 ghost story series Strange Tales from a studio of leisure (聊斋志异). There are dozens of films and animations made about it, but all making various adaptations to the story. The general idea is that Xiao Qian is a ghost who was forced to do many bad things by other ghost, but eventually redeemed herself by performing good deeds and fighting evil spirits. The original story is quite short so there are a lot of room for adaptation for this one.
Black Myth Da Huang (大荒): reg'd in 2022, Da Huang generally refers to a period before the dawn of the Chinese civilization, like a period before "China" is even a thing. Myths about this period include the Chinese creation myth of Nuwa, and the creation of the world by Pan Gu etc.
Black Myth Shan Hai (山海): reg'd in 2022, Shan Hai translates to "Mountain and Sea", referring to a geographical description of ancient China written sometime around 0 AD, it contained description of various nations with non-human inhabitants, mythical geographical locations, and mythical creatures, many of them are borderline Lovecraftian entities.
Black Myth Sou Shen (搜神): reg'd in 2022, Sou Shen translates to "In search of gods", likely referring to a collection of myths and legends written in around 300-400 AD. The book is much more like Shan Hai Jing, with a stronger focus on mythical beings and legends. It also includes some conspiracy theories of how the Jin Dynasty came to power through schemes and unjust methods. Generally regarded as not the best literature, but influential for later fantastical works.
One interesting thing is Black Myth Nezha is also registered, in 2021 and 2022, but not by Game Science. By the looks of it someone or some company probably scooped up the trademark.
