One year after the Kyoto Animation arson attack, we'll be sharing a series of articles detailing what makes them a unique existence in the anime world. First, a long conversation between multiple series directors—what does it mean to be a director anyway?

Neat to hear about their apprehension to ask for work to be redone at a studio that's all about togetherness—it's their pals they work with after all, not unknown faces elsewhere. Also, comforting that even project leaders started 100% clueless. If you're a newbie, make mistakes!
