As if the Ghibli Museum didn’t already provide enough reason for fans of the animation studio to visit Japan, there will soon be a park that recreates the world of the beloved 1988 film My Nei**or Totoro.

Studio Ghibli producer Toshio Suzuki and Aichi prefectural governor Hideaki Ōmura on Wednesday announced p l a n s for a Ghibli park in a 200-hectare (about 494 acres) area of Aichi’s Expo Park. It’s set to open in early 2020.
周三，吉卜力工作室的制片人铃木敏夫和爱知县知事大村秀章宣布将在爱知世博园内建立占地200公顷的吉卜力公园，预计2020年上半年开放。
The park already has one area devoted to My Nei**or Totoro, with a re-creation of Satsuki and Mei’s house built for the 2005 World’s Fair. The house was used for Studio Ghibli exhibitions in 2008 and 2015.

The goal for Ghibli Park is to attract tourists, both domestic and foreign, to the prefecture. Seeing how popular Studio Ghibli and My Nei**or Totoro are around the world, it’s likely to accomplish that.
