No longer works for PS4 drive upgrade
By Mike Marsh on January 9, 2016
Style Name: PortableSize: 1TB Verified Purchase
While many reviews suggest these can be opened then swapped in a PS4, mine has different internal hardware. It looks like Seagate removed the SATA connector in their manufacturing process so it won't work as a PS4 drive replacement.

Mine had a DOM (date of manufacture) of 11/2015 labeled on the retail box and the drive itself. Neutral three star rating since I'm not using this as intended. Just wanted to save a fellow ps4 owner the hassle.

I just got off the phone with Seagate. According to them, the Seagate Expansion line of portable drives are moving over to the "hard wired" USB 3.0 port. I was told some of the older drives are still using the standard internal SATA connection but there is no guarantee which type of drive you will receive. They also stated that it is possible that their other models of portable drives may move to this design in the future. I have had several customers bring in portable drives complaining they're not being recognized. Whether it be a Seagate, Toshiba or Western Digital, I have always been able to remove the hard drive from the case and access it by hooking it to the SATA port of a PC. After that, it's a simple matter of buying a new external case to put the drive in. With Seagate moving to the "hard wired" USB port design, this guarantees that personally, will not be purchasing one of their drives. I decided to contact Western Digital also. According to them, all of their portable drives still use a standard SATA hard drive inside. I have a feeling Seagate's new design will affect the sales of their portable hard drives in the future.

海淘4T的才880含税,但是现在希捷都改用新接口不能再装上PS4了...
是不是直接淘宝买个9.5mm 2T的装上就好?
