Ubisoft, EA Classics Available for Free

Classic titles from major publishers Electronic Arts and Ubisoft, including Command & Conquer and Far Cry, are currently up for grabs for free.

ImageEA has announced that during September, to mark the 12th anniversary of the release of the original Command & Conquer, a Windows XP compatible version of the game is available as a free download. It is the same version that is included with the collectors pack Command & Conquer: The First Decade, and can be accessed via the game’s official website.



In related news, PC gamers who’ve never sampled the likes of Far Cry, Rayman's Raving Rabbids or Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time can also get these titles for free, via website FilePlanet, although the games are ad-supported. You might have to endure some brazen marketing along the way but if you’ve never played them before you probably shouldn’t turn a blind eye on these classics.



At present it appears only US residents with a valid Ubi.com account can play the three titles, and it’s unclear whether they're available for a short time as part of a special promotion or whether they’ll be around for the foreseeable future.
