EA宣布将关闭老战地游戏服务器

According to their latest service update, EA is officially shutting down the multiplayer for Battlefield 1942, Vietnam, Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2: Modern Combat (PS2 version), and Battlefield 2142 on June 30th this year.

Strangely they also include Star Wars: Battlefront I and II for PC and PS2 in that listing, but I am assuming that is because EA owns the franchise now.

I am assuming that this is directly related to GameSpy going dark at the end of May, EA did say they were trying to save the old games but it looks like they aren't going to bother. As for the other titles going down there are numerous other ways to play them like OpenSpy, Tunngle, and GameRanger. So there is a chance that some of them may be saved.

Edit: Direct confirmation that it is a result of GameSpy going down.

唉，2142相当喜欢啊，可惜没后续，后面的那些现代类型的都不和胃口，玩不久。
2142玩刀最有趣啊，可以隐刀。装甲车2号位刷人头不能更赞。唯一怨念就是泰坦空投10人的章一次都没拿过。
