The HiFiman has two features that you’ll see are common among the most expensive headphones: open-back, and planar magnetic. Check out Open-back vs Closed-back headphones for that difference (hint, most headphones are closed-back).
Planar magnetic headphones (and speakers) use a thin material suspended in a magnetic field. They sound different than traditional drivers. I go into more detail in my Audeze LCD-3 review, which also use planar magnetic drivers.

CNET’s Steve Guttenberg liked them a lot in his review, “The Hifiman headphones and amplifier provide a remarkably direct connection to the music, without adding or subtracting much from the sound. It’s as close to “being there” as I’ve heard from headphones.”

真男人能搞出耳机主要是靠winny，他们早年还搞过静电耳机jade，品控不好做就小批量试制之后坑掉了……

jade这个坑不知道什么时候能填上，好像震膜的问题一直没进展

终于看到业内来爆料了，winny确实是有实力的人，不过据说hifiman的调音是按照米饭的喜好来的，
貌似喜欢这种调音的人还不少，呵呵
