Using a Linux computer in 2021 is a nostalgia trip for me, because I grew up in a Unix world. I first started using computers in the 1980s when I worked at the Rand Corporation (if you don’t count the horrible Wang word processors installed at the State Department in the early 1980s—the government is terrible at buying IT equipment). At that time everyone had a terminal in their office connected to a DEC PDP-11, the hottest minicomputer at the time that ran on Unix. There was no WYSIWYG at the time or graphical interfaces; everything was text based and if you wanted to format a new paragraph you would have to type a code:

You would then have to print it out before you really knew what it looked like.

The only major drawback in my view is that many of the big, complex, and expensive software suites like Adobe Creative Cloud or Autodesk’s Fusion 360 and 3DS Max don’t have Linux versions. It’s for that reason that I still own a Windows computer.

简单扫了一眼，老爷子支持 Linux 的观点主要是：
1. Linux 便宜，不用花钱买 Win 系统和 Office
2. 老子从小就用 Linux 了，现在也有好几台 Linux
3. Linux 有方便的命令行（原注：Mac 也有）
4. Linux 有各种稳定的实用工具。如果做开发，Linux 平台有最完善的工具链，而且都不要钱
5. 安全，因为用 Linux 的人少所以黑 Linux 的人少
6. 常用软件诸如 Firefox Chrome Zoom 都有 Linux 版本，Linux 也有图像、视频编辑软件。缺点是 Linux 缺少一些又大又贵的软件如 Adobe 全家桶
7. 并不是一个理由：有的人爱用 IDE，有的人爱用 Vim/Emacs，而且效率更高



虽然说的是一些业内都知道的事情，不过考虑到此文受众是普罗大众，算是一篇 Geek 文化推广文吧。
个人作为一个 Linuxer，宣传 Linux 文化的行文还是要支持

老爷子应该是没用真过 LibreOffice，那破玩意儿和 Office 真的没得比的啊

之前买了台准系统换cpu装Linux，结果风扇速度控制不了，一直满速转，没本事自己写驱动，只能装回win了
