Netflix's Cannon Busters animated series has been scheduled to debut April 1, 2019 on the digital streaming service. Based on the comic book series by LeSean Thomas, Cannon Busters
"The show follows the adventures and exploits of S.A.M, a high-end friendship droid who’s joined by a quirky, discarded maintenance robot and a brash, deadly fugitive," reads Netflix's description. "Together, the unlikely trio embarks on an unforgettable journey in a fantastic and dangerous world in search of S.A.M’s best friend, the heir to a kingdom under siege."
In 2014, Thomas raised over $150,000 on Kickstarter to fund the development of the pilot. Thomas recruited Joe Madureira to assist on character designs, and production work by Tim Yoon. The animation was completed by Satelight.
Netflix has ordered a 12-episode first season of Cannon Busters.
